Jorge Yant
Highly acclaimed as a leading industry innovator and creative visionary, Jorge Yant's unique leadership has guided Plexis Healthcare Systems since its founding in 1996. Mr. Yant's expertise in developing key partnerships and experience directing the design, development and deployment of information technology systems for the healthcare industry has resulted in Plexis continued growth in the U.S. and abroad. Based in the Pacific Northwest, Plexis is recognized as one of the nation's fastest growing healthcare technology companies. Mr. Yant is the founder of several successful technology businesses and a former CIO of one of the largest law firms in the country, Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe; Consultant with Price Waterhouse; and Director of Administration at U.C. Berkeley law school. Mr. Yant was appointed to the Oregon Health Policy Commission by Governor Ted Kulongoski in 2004 and has delivered speeches to a wide range of executive, business and health industry audiences. Mr. Yant holds a Master's of Science degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of New Mexico.
Bart Rupert
Bart Rupert is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of Plexis Healthcare Systems including organizational growth, integration of strategic plans with tactical operations, and profit and loss for the business. He oversees the structuring and operation of cohesive teams, day-to-day management of simultaneous projects, process improvement initiatives, and innovative solutions to foster departmental efficiencies and quality. Bart is also responsible for the management of development partner relationships at Plexis. Mr. Rupert has a strong background in the healthcare software industry, having directed the creation of EMR and healthcare solutions for hospitals, providers, and government facilities across the United States. He served as the COO of Crib Notes Software, a niche EMR company, cultivating the organization into an internationally-recognized market leader. Bart has formerly worked with Fortune 500 healthcare providers, including HBOC, McKesson, and FCG in various leadership roles across more than a dozen healthcare software projects. His strengths include planning for growth, setting strategic direction, improving internal business processes, managing complex engagements, and building synergistic teams.
Sean Garrett
Sean Garrett oversees Plexis’ product development strategy. Working with our sales & marketing and engineering departments, Mr. Garrett validates market need and acceptance of new feature development and helps facilitate prioritization and developmental approach ensuring that Plexis products continue to fulfill market demand for evolving technology, architecture and feature/functionality. Sean is responsible for maintaining a consistent and unified vision across all aspects of product development, from identification and analysis of emerging technologies and R&D, to sales and marketing strategy. As the company’s chief liaison to industry analysts and subject matter experts on feature/functionality and technology requirements, Sean and his staff access current data based on industry analysis, prospective and existing client feedback, solicited information and experiential insight to shape Plexis’ product development road maps. Mr. Garrett has been with Plexis since 1998 and originally served as the company's Vice President of Operations where he headed up implementation services, product technical support and information services. Prior to his current position, Sean served as Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, directing day-to-day and strategic management of Plexis’ sales and marketing department activities. Sean is a member of HIMSS International and MS-HUG (Microsoft Healthcare Users Group).
Paula Weldon
Paula Weldon has worked as a member of the Plexis engineering team since 2002, including serving as Director of Design and Analysis. Paula's expertise in application design, the current healthcare industry and a keen understanding of Plexis product lines guides the engineering team towards greater levels of efficiency and productivity through planning and process-improvement initiatives. Paula's previous experience includes more than 16 years healthcare IT, including directing software implementations for a large multi-practice physician group.
Terri Coppersmith
Terri Coppersmith brings more than 20 years of experience to her position as Vice President of Finance. Terri is responsible for finance, corporate assets, and providing budgetary guidance. Prior to joining Plexis, Terri was Vice President of Western Energy Institute in Portland, Oregon, where she worked since 1992. Terri is also a member of the State Board of Certified Public Accountants of Louisiana, holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in accounting from the University of New Orleans, and graduated from the Institute for Organization Management at the University of Arizona.
Pete Escobar
Pete Escobar manages and oversees the Customer Care department at Plexis including Product Delivery, Technical Support, Training, and Information Technology. He is responsible for delivery and support of all commercial and federal accounts across Plexis. Leading the Customer Care department, Pete is also responsible for the on-time delivery of high-quality solutions, conversion and training services, implementing collaborative partnerships, and the implementation of process improvements and best practices.
Mr. Escobar has an extensive background with over 20 years in Information technology leadership including software development, customer delivery, corporate transformations, process improvements, information security, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, strategic development, international business, and regulatory compliance. Pete has worked in multiple industries including software development, telecommunications, consulting, finance, bio-technology and energy. Working in multiple roles he has protected tens of billions of dollars in corporate assets, optimized budgets with hundreds of millions of dollars, impacted tens of thousands of employees, directly changed the working processes for thousands of employees and enhanced processes serving millions of customers. Formerly, Pete has worked with companies such as Citigroup, MasterCard, Ameren, Monsanto, and Comverse Network Systems. His credentials include a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Massachusetts, MBA from Washington University, Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) as well as various process certifications.
Matt Stenson
Matt Stenson's primary responsibilities include directing new client implementations and managing implementation partner relationships. Previously at Plexis, Matt served as Plexis Senior Project Manager, where he directed several successful client implementations and gained expert knowledge in healthcare information systems. Prior to joining Plexis, Matt was Vice President of Global Consulting Services for Manugistics, an enterprise software company, focusing on pricing and revenue management systems. His previous experience includes account management, project management, and business analysis roles in consulting and software organizations, as well as a research engineer for General Electric. Matt holds a Master's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ohio University.
Chris McCollum
Chris brings over 25 years of Software Development industry experience with 19 years of Project Management experience to the PMO. He is a change agent that brings organizations to the forefront of business best practices and leading technologies. His current focus is on State MMIS and Federal Programs. He successfully implements governance, compliance, project management approaches, processes, and software development lifecycles in both business and engineering disciplines that support an enterprise solution approach. Prior to joining Plexis, Chris served as a Senior Project Manager on large scale system integrations for Harry and David Inc. and Yamanouchi Consumer Inc. Prior to those engagements he lived in New England and was employed with ARINC Research and GTE Government Systems on government contracts in conjunction with the armed services. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Engineering from Oregon Institute of Technology.
Steve Whipple
Steve's responsibilities include directing and managing the Plexis Technical Support department. With four years of experience as Plexis' Technical Support Manager, 2 years managing the Customer Care department and almost three years managing the Plexis Engineering Department, Steve has directed a wide range of client implementation, technical problem solving, and engineering projects of many sizes. Prior to joining Plexis, Steve served as an Executive Producer for Trilobyte, Inc., an international PC game software development company and as a member of the executive team for a mid-sized Southern Oregon newspaper. Steve holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Southern Oregon University.
Jay Hammond
A Plexis business development leader specializing in benefit administration systems since 1996, Mr. Hammond’s extensive healthcare payer industry experience and sales leadership has continued to drive Plexis’ rapid expansion into major commercial and government healthcare markets nationally and overseas. He has experience specializing in the world of healthcare payer, insurance and benefit administration. Jay has spent over 13 years selling payer-specific systems to commercial health plans, managed care organizations, self-funded entities, specialty networks and third party administrators as well as working with large systems integrators and prime contractors in winning State and Federal Bids. His experience is selling around the world, creating new accounts in the United States, many Caribbean nations, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and South America. He is also well-versed in working with C-Level executives in small and large commercial entities as well as government (county, state and federal) organizations to help create relationships and encourage growth. Jay holds a BS in Health Promotion and Fitness Management, a BA in Sales and Marketing and has a background in physical therapy. Jay has been with Plexis since 1998.
