Plexis to Streamline Administration of Healthcare Benefits in Bahamas and U.S.
Ashland, OR – July 8, 2008 – ColinaImperial Insurance Company, the leading life and health insurance provider in The Bahamas, selected Plexis Healthcare Systems to provide its claims processing and benefits administration software solution. Plexis Claims Manager will automate claims processing and streamline benefits administration for ColinaImperial’s health claims in The Bahamas and U.S.; Plexis Direct will provide for real-time electronic claim submission and adjudication via the Internet, using Mitan Technologies’ real-time claim submission and response portal.

ColinaImperial currently offers comprehensive group life and health insurance programs for small, medium and large Bahamian businesses as well as individual insurance coverage and related financial solutions for the people of The Bahamas. ColinaImperial selected Plexis’ solution for several reasons, including Plexis’ experience with implementing and supporting its systems in the Caribbean health insurance market. Processing flexibility was also key for ColinaImperial and Plexis’ flexible rules-based processing engine has a strong track record for delivering increased efficiency and accuracy, as well as capabilities to further expand ColinImperial’s world-class customer service – both necessary requirements for the administration of ColinImperial’s health portfolio.
Plexis is also contributing to limiting ColinaImperial’s need to support multiple environments for group and individual portfolios. By providing the ability to establish a single Microsoft platform for premium billing and claims payment, Plexis will significantly streamline ColinaImperial’s business processes, saving time, money and improving productivity. Plexis and Mitan also offer real-time eligibility and claims submission capabilities, as well as the ability to efficiently manage both island and more costly U.S.-based claims.
